Marsh Singles Round One
Well done to all winners this evening!
The draw for round two has been updated and will take place on Monday 28th July.
Following some no shows this evening please note that If you cannot make it, please advise before the match day.
There has been a committee meeting and it has been agreed that no shows and cancellations on the day will result in a one match ban for the player for next league matches after the round.
Also please note that any ad hoc match rearrangements away from the specified venue will result in both players being removed from the next round as the venues pay for the right to host these matches and support our League.
The next two rounds are being played on 28th July in one venue for both rounds. It will not be possible to rearrange these fixtures as it will affect 3 players on the night.
Also a lot of hard work is undertaken to arrange the draw and match venues.

Presentation/AGM/Registration plus Scotch Doubles
Thanks to everyone who came to the above on 28th April at Lydd Golf Club. Congratulations in order to all of the winners on the evening!
In terms of registration, we now have 22 teams and following feedback from league members, it was agreed to take the league back to 2 divisions as it was felt that the season ended quite quickly with only 7 team divisions.
We took what were the top 11 teams across the 3 divisions and created the Premier Division with the remaining 11 teams making up Division 1. The fixtures are now created and the season will start on Monday 12th May!
The new season will also see the latest editions of the Roy Lambourne Cup/Plate as well as a League singles competition, which will be played on a Handicap basis.
Also, all teams should note that a courtesy 10 minute table time was agreed for visiting teams at 7-50 on match nights.
The current committee restood for election aside from Molly Mitchell and Ash Stephenson. Thanks to both for their service to the League. The committee were re-elected by the members.
Discussions were held on player safety and The Alison Graham Ladies (now an Invitational competition) before the meeting was closed.
The Inaugural Scotch Doubles Final was held on the evening and was well supported by the members of the league and the finalists' families. This was a tense affair and was won 8-5 by Matt Coleman and Chris Beale who recovered from an early deficit. Congratulations to both and also to the beaten finalists, Nick Brown and Austin Palmer who played some great pool on their run to the final.
Matt and Chris will receive their Trophy at the next presentation evening as well as the winners of the Alison Graham Ladies and the current Romney League Masters which is ongoing.
We, as a committee, look forward to seeing you all again this season!
